Jessica completed her dietetic internship at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where she assessed patients’ dietary status, created meal plans, and educated patients on the nutritional component of their conditions. She has experience working with children and adolescents, having provided nutrition education and counseling to middle and high school students at the Berkeley Carroll School in Brooklyn, NY, and to preschool and elementary school-aged children at the New York University pediatric dentistry clinic. Additionally, Jessica has taken part in The American Institute of Wine & Food’s Days of Tasteâ volunteer program, a food and nutrition educational program for children. She also performed nutrition analyses and produced patient education material while working at the private practice of Lisa Drayer, M.A., R.D. In addition she contributed to Ms. Drayer’s book Strong, Slim, and 30! A Plan for Weight Loss, Health and Beauty in Your 30s and Beyond (McGraw-Hill, 2007), which focuses on nutrition for women in their thirties.
Jessica graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in psychology and completed a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, both at New York University. She is also a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN). |
