Glabellar Lines

Sometimes called the ‘Eleven’ the glabellar lines are those vertical lines that develop between the eyebrows as a result of frowning, scowling, or merely focusing while listening or reading.  Sometimes bad eyesight or insufficient corrective lenses can contribute to the muscle contractions that deepen the glabellar lines.   Like other creases, wrinkles and lines on the face, they are now easily treated with Botox.  Botox can smooth out these two lines and ease and de-wrinkle the brow in general.   To treat the Eleven, the dermatologist or plastic surgeon injects the thick muscle between the eyebrows with a small amount of Botox.  Over the next few days, the Botox gradually causes the contraction in the muscle to weaken, thus smoothing the lines on the skin surface.  Typically, the result will last four to six months, after which touch-ups will be required to keep the area smooth.
